“Next time, park your car where there are security guards.”
“Okay.”
So I thought it wouldn’t be too dangerous to leave my lorry about two 7-11 stores away from my friend’s shop. Drinking away happily, celebrating Samantha’s 25th birthday and talking crap with GJ, and also this new Dongguanese guy Dennis that I’ve just known…
And fuck, what the fuck….
My batteries got fucking stolen again. The same way they did the last time. Snip off wire, Snip off iron hook, and rip out the fucking battery…
Motherfucking useless security guards.
I mean, this is not the fucked up, dark neighborhoods where lights are dim, people are starving poor… Its just 3 blocks away from where I live, outside the gate but still part of the estate where dozens of guards march past every few 10 minutes…
So now, I’m another $500 into debt when I told my dad about it. Its my fault. Why should anyone else pay for it?
Father is ill. He is broke, too. So broke that he can’t even afford to see the doctor. I doubt if that’s because of me. Its not my fault that he accepted projects anyhow, hoping that the next project will not lose money like the current one… every single time?
Telling myself that, makes me feel less guilty… in a way.
I have never seen the accounts for the projects. But I do know how much money can be earned from one, and also the cost of materials/worker’s salary required to produce it.
Imagine if it's a $100,000 project which requires $70,000 worth of materials to produce. So that's a huge profit margin there, if you do not throw in the amount of fixed costs like utilities, transportation, worker’s salaries, rent. Lets say the fixed costs is at $100,000/mth, you’d need to do at least 3 such projects to break even.
But we can’t. The space is limited, workers and manager(s) are fucked up. We are all lazy, and there’s lots of vital supplies stolen even with the storekeeper around, which causes major delays at work.
And even if we did, sending out the goods would be problematic if the order’s urgent. Receiving the payment would be like 45 days later, on most projects. So in other words, you’d need to be continuously running a cycle that is very dangerous; another slightly delayed payment/bad debt, you fail to pay the supplier on time=there goes our company…
Personally, I’m into a deep load of debts right now. I didn’t get May’s pay because I was on holiday in Singapore for too long. The airticket’s price, the money owed to my aunt, the car batteries x 2, Mom’s allowance x2, other credit card bills… its almost going to $10,000 already. Seriously, that means I’m pretty fucked.
There’s this attractive looking $10000 loan from the bank that I’d like to take up… but…
Its gonna be fucking with my life for half a year... 1 year... or maybe two. That kinda sucks... x_x |
